About 30 years ago I had the good fortune to meet Ketul and be introduced to Rasa Yoga when he established his one of a kind studio in New York City.
I started doing Rasa Yoga more than 3 years ago. I had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and I was looking for balance, peace of mind and a way to strengthen and stretch weakened muscles. I was looking for a way to feel safe and to feel whole again. I had done hatha yoga for many years, with many different instructors but Rasa Yoga has been a unique experience and Ketul is a unique teacher. His deeply spiritual and philosophical approach to life transforms every class into a profoundly healing experience. I feel restored after every class: spiritually and physically, more at peace and physically stronger. I especially recommend Rasa Yoga to anyone who needs to be healed physically or emotionally. ~J.S.
I would experience a deep sense of settling and relaxation from the moment you walked in the door of the quiet and exquisite yoga studio. The many qualities of deeply restful awareness we were practicing were sorely needed in the midst of the hustle and bustle of everyday city life.
Unlike other places to practice yoga, of which there were many,
I was immediately drawn to Ketul’s teaching which was always articulate, gentle and heartfelt. The benefits for me and others were easy to see. While practicing I would notice myself calming down, seeing more clearly, feeling more deeply and simply experiencing great pleasure in this way of being together.
In 1998, I visited New York city with a friend who took me on a grand tour of yoga studios in the city. The first one he took me to was Ketul's Wednesday night Rasa Yoga class. I had never experienced anything like it, and when I returned home after sampling all the yoga the city had to offer at that time, I knew that I wanted to experience Rasa again. I still fondly remember the other yoga classes and studios I visited on that trip, but Rasa had captured my heart and it was the one where I took my first yoga teacher training and taught my first yoga classes and it will always be first in my heart, my yoga home. I have been practicing Rasa ever since as an experiment, an experience and as the base for my ongoing explorations. Thank you, Ketul, and all your many teachers, for such a beautiful, deeply restorative, nurturing practice.~E.B.
I found Ketul’s class to be very good for me. It was gentle and relaxing. I thought at first that this is too easy. But after a couple of classes, I realized and began to understand that the power of his gentle style of teaching yoga soothes both the mind and the body, and leaves me more energetic than at the beginning of the class.~A.D.
I learned so much and was so moved by all this that I also began to teach first at the studio and eventually on my own in different venues and I can honestly say all the Rasa teachings are with me day in and day out, benefiting me and many others and I am ever grateful for it all.~R.A.
The practice invited us, for a brief time, to let go of the world outside, to enter our own body mind experience and rest in it as we moved through the postures, the sounding and making our way into a more fully open and wakeful state.
